  • Hon. Senator Victor Oh

    Senator Victor Oh was born in Singapore. In 1978, he immigrated to Canada. In the following years, Senator Oh became a successful entrepreneur and an active community leader in the Greater Toronto Area. Much of his volunteer work focused on building bridges of understanding and collaboration across cultures as well as to helping newcomers from all over the world establish themselves and start their own businesses.

    Since his appointment to the Senate of Canada in January 2013, Senator Oh has been committed to advancing the interests and rights of vulnerable groups, including seniors, youth and migrants, and to promoting economic growth and job creation for generations to come. He has also been involved in various initiatives that celebrate the rich ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity of Canada.

    Today, Senator Oh is the Vice-Chair of the Canada-China Legislative Association and of the Canada-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group in addition to a member of the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association, the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas and the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group. He has also held executive positions in a number of parliamentary friendship groups including Canada-Bulgaria, Canada-Indonesia, Canada-Malaysia, Canada-Nordic-Baltic, Canada-Peru and Canada-Singapore.

    In 2016, Senator Oh was the head of the Canadian parliamentary delegation at the 24th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) held in Vancouver, British Columbia. On this same year, he joined the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank & International Monetary Fund, which provides a platform for parliamentarians from over 140 countries to advocate for increased accountability and transparency in International Financial Institutions and multilateral development financing.

    Over the years, Senator Oh has been awarded with several distinctions. He received the Robert Boyne Memorial Award by the Peel Regional Police in 2007 and the prestigious Citation for Citizenship by the Government of Canada in 2008. In 2010, Senator Oh became the first Chinese-Canadian to receive a tribute dinner by the Community Living Foundation of Mississauga in 26 years.

    Senator Oh currently resides in Mississauga with his wife, Rosa. He is the proud father of two sons, Daryll and Derek, and a loving grandfather to three grandchildren.

    Senator Oh retired in June 2024.


  • Mayor Simon Yu

    Mayor Simon Yu has been an active member of the Prince George Community for nearly 50 years.

    Mayor Yu’s scope of work and community involvement includes:

    Mayor Yu is a professional engineer who has taught engineering at College of New Caledonia and he had an active consulting engineering business servicing the Northern B.C. region prior to becoming the Mayor of Prince George.


  • Dr. Stanley Remple, Ph.D.

    Stanley Remple, BA (philosophy and psychology), MSW (Social Work), MPH (Health Administration), PhD. (Community Systems Planning and Development), and DMHA (Mental Health Administration). Stanley is a husband (has been married for 59 years), father, and grandfather, and is a now retired after more than 35 years of progressively responsible professional work. He now limits his professional work to board membership, mentoring of business leaders, limited public speaking, some leadership consulting, and guest teaching, Dr. Remple has had a successful and rewarding career as frontline worker, supervisor, middle level leader, executive public service leader (Assistant Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister) in two provinces, business partner (Employability Assessment) and owner (Leadership Consulting), tenured graduate-level professor, graduate leadership program leader, cross-cultural implementer and founder of graduate leadership programs in Kenya and China, and value-based business leadership author. Dr. Remple is a former board member and life-long member of the CCAF, was awarded a Governor General medal for service to Canadians, and has been involved with various non-profit organizations. His extensive education journey has been important, but Stanley’s view is that quality work must be the evidence of educational achievements. More of Dr. Remple’s time is now spent reading, gardening, golfing, bridge, and travelling internationally with his wife.


  • Dr. GuangWei Ouyang,PHD Philosophy

    Born in Shanghai, earned his BA from Nanjing University, MA from Fudan University, and MA and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Alberta. Over the last forty years Dr. Ouyang taught social, political, moral and legal philosophy at universities in Shanghai, Edmonton, Michigan and Vancouver. He was Vice President responsible for international education and academic program development and now is an Administrative Emeritus at Douglas College. He received many awards from CBIE, CICAN and WFCI and he was the very first recipient of life time achievement in international education created by British Columbia Council of International Education in 2021. He has also Published papers in the areas of philosophy and internationalization.


  • Dr. Youngsoo Kim

    Dr. Youngsoo Kim was the Presidential Office Secretary in South Korea. He got his PHD in MIT. He has extensive international experience in many areas and good at many languages such as English, Chinese, Japanese. He is a famous economist in Korea, China.

  • Tung Chan

    Tung Chan is the immediate past Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, and former CEO of SUCCESS. He is an Honorary Captain in the Royal Canadian Navy and was a Councillor and a Deputy Mayor of the City of Vancouver, manager of a Royal Bank branch, Vice President of the TD Bank Group, and District VP of TD Canada Trust where he had operational and strategic responsibilities for two overseas branches (Hong Kong and Taiwan) and 17 domestic branches. Tung Chan has received the Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Medal and the Diamond Jubilee Medal. A volunteer, philanthropist and community leader, Tung has served on the boards of numerous civic, cultural, business, and educational organizations. He was invested into the Order of BC in 2014.

  • Dr.Vincent Cheng Yang

    Senior Associate, International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy, Canada. Ph. D. in Criminology, Simon Fraser University, Canada. Former Vice Rector and Chair Professor of International Law, University of Saint Joseph, Macau. Overseas Chinese Representative by Special Invitation to the 11th Chinese People’s Political Consultation Conference.

    Dr. Yang started his university teaching career in 1984. He was called to the Bar of China in 1985. In 1986, he went to Cambridge University as a long term visiting scholar. In 1991, he went to Canada to study in the doctoral program. He then joined a United Nations affiliated institute, International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy, where he was responsible for managing and executing CIDA funded Canada-China criminal justice reform and cooperation projects for fifteen years. Participants in project activities included top government departments of justice and law enforcement of both countries and leading university scholars and experts. From 2001 to 2018, Prof. Yang taught a variety of courses in all four universities in Macau, including law, international relations and public policies. He has been a visiting Chair Professor and Supervisor of Doctoral Students at College of Criminal Law Science of Beijing Normal University and was granted honorary professorships by special invitations from China University of Political Science and Law, Renmin University and several other universities.

    Dr. Yang was an expert member of the Canadian delegation to the governmental bilateral human rights dialogues with China. For many years, he served as an international expert for the United Nations Office of the Higher Commissioner for Human Rights, the Canadian Bar Association, UNDP and several other organizations for their rule of law initiatives with China. He is a key expert witness appointed by the Department of Immigration of Canada in the high profile deportation cases of Lai Changxing, Gao Shan and some others fugitives from China. He was on the list of The Vancouver Sun 2006 list of “100 Influential Chinese”. He is a member of International Society for the Reform of Criminal Law, International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities and several other international professional associations. His research areas are transnational crime, international cooperation in criminal justice, criminal law reform and human rights. He has published extensively on international cooperation to combat corruption and other topics. To date, he has co-edited and co-authored over 20 books.
